For the second year, Orvis returns to Missoula for a full-fledged day of fly fishing festivities, followed by a film festival. That’s a whole lot of f’s, and a whole lot more awesome. This year the Down the Hatch Fishing Festival will be held Saturday April 5th, at Caras Park from 4pm to 6pm, followed by the Orvis Film Fest at 7:00 pm at the Wilma Theatre. This is a great event that shouldn’t be missed if you’re in town – unless you’re out on the water, that is! Music by the Lil’ Smokies, free beer and lots of new gear to play around with. Last year brought a surprise appearance by Hank Patterson, world famous fly fishing guide. Who knows what will be in store for this year? Lots of raffle swag from sponsors like Adipose Boatworks, Cascade Outfitters, Maravia, NRS, Rodmounts, Sawyer, Stream Tech Boats, Hog Island Boat Works, Tenkara USA, Smith Optics, Klean Kanteen, Sotar, Scientific Anglers, Montana Raft Frames, and Fly Craft USA. Of course the local Trout Unlimited chapter, Big Sky Brewing, the Clark Fork Coalition, the International Federation of Fly Fishers, Catch Magazine and Trail 103.3 radio will be on hand.
