It’s that time of year again, when those denizens of clean water in Missoula get out and take care of the Clark Fork like no one else does. Sure, a river runs through it. But it doesn’t have to be stinking of bum camps and sewer water, now does it? The Clark Fork Coalition’s annual big event, the cleanup, is not only a great way to give back to the waters that we love but it is a great social event as well. Get down and dirty, dig in and see what kind of garbage you can find. Bet you won’t forget it.
This year’s Clark Fork Cleanup takes place Saturday, April 19th in Caras Park. Check in, grab some gloves and a trash bag and fill ‘er up on the riverside. Or get out in your boat to join the fun, with free shuttles provided by the coalition! Families welcome, of course. Kids love it, dogs love it, people love it. When it is all done, there is a barbecue and social from noon to 2pm, and if you’re lucky you might just trade that garbage bag for a smile from a pretty little lady with a garbage bag of her own. More information is available at clarkfork.org
so set the date: April 19, and the time: 9:00 am, and get ready to do some spring cleaning that matters.
|This little kid knows what’s up: cleaning the river is downright the coolest.
