It’s a long season, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t go by fast. When the heat of summer fades to the cool nights of fall, the kids are back in school and the rivers are liberated from the fun float marathon and become the playground of the dirtbags and guides that can throw a size 20 trico around like they mean it. Time to dig in and get that cast dialed, because hopper fishing gives way to BWOs before you can say October Caddis. For now, here’s to chunky cutties caught on chunky foam, summer heat and nets full of the Blackfoot river’s finest, and to a throwback thursday with nothing but net and sunshine.
