The weather over then next few days looks pretty good for winter fishing, with temps hovering above freezing and a little precipitation along the way. Waterproof jacket and some layers and you should be good for a day on the Bitterroot or Rock Creek, and some sections of the Clark Fork are holding some decent open water as well. If you’re common-law married to the vise these days, get out for a breather and see some water if you have the chance. Cloud cover and mild temperatures mean fish will be active. Well, winter active. Which ain’t much, but we’ll take it. Get out your winter go-to flies and find some nice slow, deep stuff and get bent.
|The Lower Clark Fork in winter is a wonderful sight, and even better for fishing. Get out and give it a shot!
