The rivers are on the drop, and it’s been a few days. Might be time to get out there and see if the fish are willing to play ball. Even in the high water the hatches are happening. A recent scout on the upper Clark Fork was a mayfly extravaganza, with some small stoneflies and a few random salmonflies fluttering about as well. This weather has them bugs all confused. The rivers are real high, and steady fishing is happening in places like the Missouri and local still waters, but a few days on the drop can open up a whole lot of possibilities… Just saying.
|This is a wire worm. I like them to get down in the fast flows of runoff and find fish. They work.|
