When it comes to saltwater flies, the Clouser Minnow reigns supreme. And it will pull in lots of trout too. And bass. And anything else you’re fishing for. After spending a week trying to make it work on the saltwater tides of Maine, I returned to Montana determined to have more of these on hand for the next adventure. This video from Tightlines does more than just spin up the fly, it gives tips from vise selection to hook choice and a whole lot more. Just a solid tutorial for a solid fly. What better on a Tuesday? It may be hoppers and beetles from here on out on the Blackfoot, but a well fished Clouser will get munched as well, so give them a shot. I’ll be tying up a whole lot of big ones for my next saltwater adventure as well.
